Hungary’s capital and the center of Hungary’s economy, industry, transportation and culture. Budapest brings together history and modernity and counts without a doubt as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. At the center of Budapest flows the Danube river, which divides the city into two parts: To the west of the river is Buda, a hilly region with national monuments and exclusive residential neighborhoods. In the east is Pest, a plateau with most of the city’s commercial, financial and economic activity. Budapest is filled with spectacular squares, lots of cafés, colorful and lively markets, spas, green parks, museums, night life to write home about and naturally many historical buildings of all kinds.
