The Slovakian capital and the country’s largest city is located on both sides of the Danube. The Carpathian Mountains begin within the city, in an area called “the Little Carpathians”. This includes the Bratislava Forest Park, which is a very popular resort among the locals. Bratislava is the political, cultural and economic center of Slovakia. All the Slovakian government and parliamentary agencies are in Bratislava as well as universities, museums, theaters, art galleries and many other economic, cultural and educational institutions. Most of the city’s restaurants and clubs are in Bratislava’s old town, which is a relatively small yet very charming area, full of cafés, shops and fantastic restaurants. Bratislava is a beautiful city surrounded by a magnificent scenery of mountains and forests.
