Nowadays the capital of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the western part of the country, Dusseldorf began as a small fishermen village at the river Rhine. It has since become a busy metropolis offering cultural delights, shopping opportunities, and tourist attractions. Napoleon named it “little Paris”. Next to architecturally spectacular structures is the old town, also known as “the world’s longest pub” for accommodating about 300 bars and clubs on about 0.5 square kilometers (or less than 0.2 square miles). Dusseldorf is the perfect destination for a company getaway combining history and art with fun and nightlife.
